Introducing Effortless3D: Revolutionizing Website Design with Simple 3D Model Integration
I’ve embarked on an incredible journey to create something truly transformative for website design. It’s called Effortless3D, and it’s all about integrating 3D models onto your website with the ease of slicing through pie. 🥧
Here’s the story: Inspired by friends launching successful projects on platforms like Product Hunt, I dove into my old code snippets in search of a spark. That’s when it struck me: Why not simplify the integration of 3D models on websites? I knew firsthand the headaches associated with dependencies and complexities involved.
Fast forward two weeks, fueled by endless cups of coffee, I had the whole setup ready — the website, the package, everything. But there was a hiccup with the payment system. Initially, it was nearly free, with minor charges linked only to package access via npm.
During testing, I faced a slew of errors — thirty-seven, to be exact, when I tried integrating my package into a local project. It was disheartening, to say the least.
But then, a breakthrough! 💡 What if I hosted the 3D models on my own site and provided a simple iframe link for users to integrate them? I ran a quick test, and voilà, it worked seamlessly, even with a transparent background!
This pivot not only solved the technical glitches but also paved the way for a new payment method: pay per iframe generated. Users could set up a 3D model, fall in love with it, purchase credits, and receive their iframe. Smooth, right?
After a few more tweaks, Effortless3D is almost ready to go live. I plan to launch it across various platforms next week, but I wanted my Reddit family to get the first glimpse.
